Pat Herbert, (Executive Chairman, JDR Cable Systems Ltd)

 

Pat is a 31 year veteran in the oil & gas industry.  He began his career in 1976 at Smith International Inc. where he spent 12 years in senior executive positions with global P&L responsibility becoming an Officer of the corporation in 1986. In 1988 he joined Baker Hughes Incorporated where he was a division president before moving to the corporate level as an officer responsible for market and technology development, and other corporate governance duties such as mergers and acquisitions and served as the senior officer over all Emerging Markets – Russia, China, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and corporate centers in London, Paris and The Hague.  

 

In 1998 he became Chairman and CEO of International Energy Services Inc. a land based seismic data acquisition and processing company in the Caspian Sea region, and merged it with a regional company making it the market leader. He created a spin-out from IESI, GeoNet Energy Services, raised $20 million of private equity capital and later merged the company in Petris Technology, staying on as COO of that entity. 

 

In 2002 Mr. Herbert was recruited to JDR Cable Systems (Holdings) Ltd. as CEO over three separate businesses providing umbilical and seismic marine cable systems to the offshore oil industry and defense market. After restructuring the group into two business units, he remained Group CEO during the most dramatic growth in JDR’s 50 year history and until the Marine Cable business was sold to Fugro in April 2011. He was then promoted to Executive Chairman and recruited a CEO to preside over the operations of the remaining company JDR Cable Systems Ltd.

 

Mr. Herbert has served on many boards throughout his career; he recently completed a six year term on the University of St. Thomas Board of Directors, where he was Chairman of the Student Affairs Committee and on the advisory board of Ensyn Petroleum which was acquired by Ivanhoe Energy.  He is currently a director of Scorpion Offshore Ltd., Chairman of Blast Energy Services, traded OTC, and serves as an Advisory Board Member of Validus International. Member of the 25 Year Club of the Petroleum Industry.  

 

Pat received his MBA at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and his BSE at California State University Northridge in Northridge, California. Registered PE in the State of Texas.

 

Andrew Norman, (Chief Executive Officer, JDR Cable Systems Ltd)

 

Andrew began his career in 1980 at Marconi Space and Defence Systems in the UK, later spending time at MARS Electronics. In 1986, he joined Schindler Elevator Corp. in the USA, where he spent close to 10 years. He joined Schindler as a Manager of Drive Systems Development (Switzerland) and eventually moved into Manufacturing Information Systems and Research and Development.

 

 In 1995, Andrew joined Dresser Inc where he was a Senior Vice President of Product Marketing and Development for Dresser Valve and Controls and then for Dresser Flow Control. He participated in the team responsible for leading the divestiture of Dresser from Halliburton and developed the strategic alliance between Dresser Equipment and Yokogawa and Honeywell Inc. He was appointed to President of Technology and Growth for Dresser Flow Technology in 2008.

  

Most recently, in 2010, Andrew was appointed to President of Dresser Flow Technology Europe with full Profit and Loss responsibility for the $250M European business which has manufacturing facilities in France, Italy, and the UK. This includes direct sales and service centers, 3rd party channel partners and Russian JV Integration of two business units and multiple product lines to create a leading European supplier to the international process industries. This Dresser Flow Technology business was sold to G.E. in 2011.

 

Andrew Norman received his M.S. from Imperial College, University of London UK and his M.B.A. at the Institut Superieur d’Administration d’Affaires (INSEAD), Fontainebleau, France. He is fluent in both English and German.

 

Martin Boden, (Chief Financial Officer, JDR Cable Systems Ltd)

 

Martin joined JDR from Betty's & Taylors where he was Chief Financial Officer for 18 months. He previously spent two years as Group Finance Director at GENUS pic, six years as Group Financial Controller at GUS pic and nine years at WH Smith Group in a number of roles. Martin also worked at Zurich Financial Services (UKISA) as Group Accounting Director and at NatWest UK as Head of Financial Planning & Analysis. 


Peter Sayles,
(Managing Director,Operations, JDR Cable Systems Ltd)

 

Peter began his career in the Royal Navy, where he was Chief Petty Officer for eight years. On departure from the Navy, he moved into electronics, where his career developed with a number of companies from Senior Engineer, Systems Engineering Manager and then from Production Manager to Operations Director. He became Managing Director of V Band Pic in 1986 followed by Group Operations Manager in 1990 for TCC OLC and then General Manager, Director in 1992 for Signature Industries Ltd. Since 2000 Peter has been working as a consultant on Interim Management assignments for a variety of companies including Oceaneering Multiflex.
